Ashley Vallance received her Bachelors of Arts in Communications at the University of Southern California in 1997. She worked in the radio industry until she pursued her passion in education and teaching. Starting out as a professional classroom aide, Ashley decided to return to school where she received a Master of Arts in Education and a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. For several years she taught within the Los Angeles Unified School District. She then refined her teaching skills to technology, completing classes in Media technology at Diablo Valley College. She has since taught as an elementary and middle school Computer Lab Instructor as well as Lead Instructor of Technology Professional Development.
Ashley is currently working with ATR clients who have low vision impairments. Her software training expertise in this area includes:
- Screen Reading & Magnification Software - ZoomText
- Dictation Software - Dragon NaturallySpeaking
Ashley also provides the following services:
- Integration of computer systems
- Installation of computer systems, software and hardware
- Maintenance and care of clients’ computers
- Introduction and operations of Windows, including an introduction to computer systems
- Instruction of Microsoft Office Suite
- Troubleshooting and support for computer hardware and software
Ashley strives to assess her client’s needs and instruct accordingly. With her background teaching within the school systems, she has learned that goal setting, patience and praise are absolutes.
