A.T. Consulting Services For Schools

As more and more demands are being placed on school personnel, implementing a successful assistive technology (AT) plan in a school district is a challenge.  ATR assists schools in setting up and implementing long range plans for integrating AT throughout a school district.

When there isn’t a formalized process for assessing where a district is in regards to their use of AT, their plans for the future and what needs to put into place to get there, AT happens haphazardly at best.  Through a targeted planning process, ATR can help your district develop a process that helps:

  • develop a vision
  • establish a district wide AT Master plan
  • provide consistent, on-going training for staff, students and parents
  • develop an on-going method for updating AT resources, conducting AT assessments and continuing evaluation of the project’s success

The success of implementing an AT Master Plan will, in a large part, depend on the cooperation of key school personnel in the school district (i.e. Administration, Special Education Director, IT Director, teaching and support staff).  ATR can help your district achieve this goal.

ATR Staff has provided training and consulting services to over 60 school districts in Wisconsin.  Having worked with so many districts, we are well versed in what methods are effective and the pitfalls to avoid.   ATR consults regularly with IT departments and frequently troubleshoots on their behalf with manufacturers of assistive technology in finding solutions that benefit the district.

We also have staff members with years of experience working within school districts developing and implementing A.T. services.  This includes conducting adaptive technology evaluations for IEPs, training staff on AT software, setting up universal libraries, and administering a district wide AT plan.

This service is available in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Contact ATR to find out how we can assist your district.
